Although many vulnerabilities can usually be found, many of them are impossible for attackers to exploit for a variety of reasons. We run the scans and analyze the results, and from that create a worklist of updates or configuration changes to be installed. Only those vulnerabilities that genuinely increase your company’s attack surface are then addressed.
In OT networks, service is even more important: production facilities often require older versions of operating systems or software, and service windows for businesses are very expensive. In this case, the attack surface can be patched in a way that avoids installing updates.
